Hill Stations in South India and all over the World have always given us Travel Goals - be its Filmy Destinations or just Nature's Amazing Existence, they are just Awesome and Beautiful every time.
Munnar is as picturesque as it can get. With countless tea estates lined beautifully along the Western Ghats, you can explore the beauty of organized farming and breathe the purest of air there is! Known for mostly its tea plantations, Munnar is home to indefinite flora and fauna.
Munnar is technically ‘moon aar’ which loosely translates to ‘three rivers’ so you can also expect to see the confluence of these 3 upon reaching your destination. For motorcyclists and photographers, Munnar is the perfect place to reach out to, and calm your thirst for travel.
The Carmelagiri Elephant Park, Munnar Tea Museum and Kundala Dam are just a few of the tourist attractions that Munnar has to offer. Of all the places that you can visit, don’t pass on the Anamudi Peak as it shows the real beauty of Munnar like no other place.
Coorg is synonymous with coffee as much as bikes are synonymous with gears. If you’re looking for a chill place during the winter but afraid of the harsh North Indian cold, then Coorg is the one you have to pick! It is quite the nostalgic types, and to leave you with a calm yet excited feeling is one of Coorg’s age-old magic trick.
Riding through sharp hairpin bends, with a gush of the cold winter air on your face and coffee-breaks to warm yourself up is everything you need in life right now. Madikeri waterfalls, Nagarhole National Park and Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary attract tourists like a moth to a streetlight!
The next time you think of visiting Coorg, plan for a winter bike ride and squeeze in Coorg somehow. Trust us, this will be the best travel decision you’ll ever make.
Ooty is one of India’s most cinematic towns owing to the fact that filmmakers choose this place for its nostalgic sense and rustic neighborhoods. The first thing to do after you get here is to reach the Ooty Lake and just sit by the lake and embrace the brilliance of a lake in a hill station like Ooty.
You can also rent out a boat for four or eight and go pedaling around the lake. How much fun does that sound? If you’re more of the ‘walk and explore’ kinds, you can head out to the Rose Garden or the Nilgiri Mountain Railway to do all the touristy things there are in Ooty.
You can also head out to the Dolphin’s Nose and Lamb Rock to unleash the adventurer in you as these hilly terrains are well suited for trekking purposes. The view at the top is simply unbeatable as you can see a large spread out of green foliage from afar that will fill you with content max!
Another gem of Tamil Nadu, Yercaud is another hill station that you can skip in this lifetime. Much like Ooty, Yercaud has its own lake which is home to numerous birds that flock in during migration. It makes a wonderful place for bird-watching and photography if you have a keen eye for observing from a distance!
Apart from nature’s presents, there’s a strange road called the ‘32 km Loop Road’ which is a haven for bikers and those who love to get the adrenaline rush! It actually begins from the lake and takes on a scenic ride through the hills of Yercaud, filling your lungs with the fresh aroma of coffee and tea with the wind.
If you can get a glimpse of a tea factory from the inside, you are in for a ride! Also, the Pagoda Point in this quaint little town will take your breath away. You will most definitely run out time before you run out of places to see in Yercaud!
Located in the southeast part of India, Panchgani is one of Maharashtra's boasting points. This place is booming with wildlife as you read this! With only 30 minutes ride from Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani is a great place to ride to. But do avoid riding there during the rainy season as the roads tend to get a bit slippery at times.
When you do reach Panchgani, visit the Venna lake first as it’s the most serene place to relax after a long ride. There are various boating trips throughout the day so you can drop by anytime! Do keep the infamous ‘Sidney Point’ in your list of ‘must-see’ because it’s the ultimate of the ultimate.
Sit here until and the sun slowly dives below the horizon, enjoy the view and take a lot of photographs! People need to know you visited an amazing place, right?
